1950s
A Kirana counter in Asop
Chandmal and Bhabhootmal open a neighbourhood store in a small town in Rajasthan. Credit is extended on a handshake and remembered by name.
Second generation
The shop becomes a trade
The counter passes down. What is learned is not retail so much as reputation: weigh honestly, price fairly, and never sell a family something you would not take home.

Every product is classified by how it must travel. Frozen goods stay local, chilled goods ship cold, and nothing is quietly sent in a way that spoils it.
Honesty
Transparent pricing, real carrier costs, and dietary information we can actually stand behind. When we do not know something, we say nothing rather than guess.
The standard
We would rather show nothing than show something wrong.
A “vegan” or “gluten-free” label is not decoration. Someone with coeliac disease, an allergy, or a religious observance may rely on it. So we only mark a product when its identity settles the question — whole cumin is vegan and gluten-free because that is what cumin is.
For anything processed, where the recipe varies by brand and batch, we leave the label off and keep working until we have read the packet. Fewer badges, every one of them true.
Cold chain, enforced
Frozen goods are delivered locally only. They are never sold into a shipment that would thaw them.

We show what shipping actually costs and absorb part of it rather than hiding a margin inside it.
